The Grape Easel 

The Grape Easel experience is offered every Thursday evening from 6PM- 8:30PM*

*Pre-registration available, minimum of 5 people per class.

The Grape Easel is an experience dedicated to combining fellowship and enjoyment with artistic creation and expression. When you attend a Grape Easel event, you, your friends and family will each be provided with a canvas, paints and brushes with which you will then create your very own masterpiece. Providing an experienced art instructor, The Grape Easel highlights one painting per event which you and your comrades will be guided on how to recreate, while still allowing you to explore your own artistic expression.

Be advised that NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED! The Grape Easel events are located in blowfish emporium in order to offer its apprentices a casual environment in which to create, as well as offer an inviting space for friends to mingle with one another while they delve into their own interpretations of the featured piece. We are sure you will walk away with not only a beautiful work of art, but a memorable experience! These events are open to even the modt inexperienced novice painter. Whether you’re an accountant or a carpenter, a teacher or doctor- we will open up the artist within you.

Jewelry Workshops

 We offer a jewelry workshop each month in a specific category.  These dates are random, so please refer to our Event Calendar for specific dates.  However, these events are available for private bookings, so let us know if you are interested in booking your very own Jewelry Private Party!

Pocket Digital Camera Workshop

Local photojournalist, Sam Bass teaches practical ways to use your very own pocket digital camera in taking great images, to includes landscapes, portraits and black & whites!

Workshops Include:

  • Introduction to Creative Digital Photography   (Three Hours: Hands-on Shooting & Instruction).  Topics Discussed: Understanding the Camera and Lens, The Art of "Seeing", The Quality of Light, Color and Black&White Photography, Composing the Picture

  • ICDP Follow-up Field Trip (Optional for Interested Students).  Includes 2-3 hour Review and Critique at blowfish emporium. (Writing Assignment Optional.)

  • Sam Bass Photoshop Techniques (Three Hours: Hands-On/Instruction) at blowfish emporium. Step-by-step techniques in how to make high quality prints from your digital camera images.

  • How to Make Great Family Portraits and Family Event Pictures (Three Hours: Hands-On/Instruction). Step-by-step techniques on how to shoot high quality portraits of family members and family events. Family Portraits and Event Homework (Writing Assignment Optional.) SB Email Review and Critique.

  • How to Photograph Great Picture Stories and Photo Essays (Three Hours: Hands-On/Instruction).  Step-by-step family vacation or event (birthdays, vacations, graduations and more) picture stories and  photo essays (poems, Psalms or other esoteric  theme illustrations). SB Email Review and Critique.

  • Photo Field Trips Lead by Sam Bass Periodic photographic field trips to area historic site or other venues of interest will be made under the supervision and instruction of Sam Bass. Times and venues will be announced. Includes 2-3 hour Review and Critique at blowfish emporium.
